How aware are you as a musician ? Jazz Musician probably ? This is just for fun and getting confused, let's discuss things! Please note that there are not exact right/wrong answers for some questions. Let's get confused ^__^!

(art in music)

In the same octave, C - E - G# and B# - E - G#, are played without a bass note. Do they sound the same ? Do they have a same name (as an individual chord) ?

Why does a 4th voicing sound dissonance in a consonance context and sound consonance in a dissonance context ?

Abmin(triad) over G7 is resolving to Cmaj7, and C#(triad) over F7 is resolving to Bbmaj7. The G chord is spelled G3 - B3 - F4 - B4 - Eb5 - Ab5, and the F chord is spelled F3 - Eb4 - A4 - C#5 - F5 - G#5(enharmonically Ab5). Does the Ab (as the melody on those chords) tend to resolve to a same note or different note ?

Altered scale = 7th mode of the melodic minor scale, so why do we bothered calling altered scale and treat it more confusingly compared than a melodic minor scale ?

With Bass on C, a chord is spelled : E4 - A4 - D5 - G5 (of course the melody is the G), does that sound like a 4th voicing or a drop 2 ?

Cmaj7(#9). Is there a chordscale for this chord ? How about Cmaj7(b9) ? and ... Cmaj7 (b9,#9) ?

In a big band, brass instrument played : Tpt1-C6, Tpt2-Ab5, Tpt3-F5, Tpt4-D5, Tbn1-G4, Tbn2-D4, Tbn3-Ab3, and bass played Bb2. This Bb13 chord sounded a lil' harsh and a lil' dissonance, what do you think ?

There are some dudes hanging out in a hotel lobby, the receptionist is C, the office boy is A, and the lady cleaner is F#. 3 Guests came in to the lobby, they're G, D and E. Everyone is looking for C and needs his help. And suddenly, G complains, he said that F# is annoying him a little bit and want to see the manager to replace the cleaner. C can't say anything, he called the manager and the manager showed up. His name is Bb, Actually the receptionist doesn't really like the manager because the manager made C feels bluesy and C thinks the manager doesn't like him so much. When the manager approaches, the situation became so intense, especially for E. G complained about the lady cleaner of being too 'high level' and wanted Bb to change it, but Bb told G not to worry about the lady cleaner so much because she is so nice and won't disturb him. What's wrong with those people ? Few days later, the manager replaced by B, a higher level society leader, and everything goes a little bit more stable, C likes him so much and G doesn't find the lady is annoying anymore after all. After a week, G and D are leaving, E is still staying since he doesn't feel intense anymore. 2 ladies came to stay on the following week, they're name are G# and D#. Since that moment the receptionist loses his charm and the office boy gets more attention from people. Everything is diminished. What scale are we talking about at the end ?

(science in music - of course the art is still there!)

If you play an interval (let's say major rd) below D3, why is it so difficult for our ear to analyze what interval that is ? Of course perfect 5th and octave are exceptions.

The king of the instruments is pipe organ ... is it ?

A chord is played, and guess what ... ! Your brain can guess what the bass is. The other way around, a low note is played, do you think you can guess what the chord of the bassist thinking inside his head ? Wow ... Then being a bassist is easier than being a pianist/guitarist (chord player) huh ?

(the bottom line)

What is music ? Isn't it under one of the physics of sound chapter ? Why do we have a different chapter of this ?

Am I a music nerd ? a music theory nerd ? or just a musician ?
